No psychological testing at school
With Circular No 4226/P4, the Ministry of Education requires the General Managers of the regional education offices, including school superintendents for the Province of Bolzano and Trento, the ban on feeding tests or questionnaires on mental and emotional state of students in schools.
In this regard, the circular states specifically: "... The diagnosis of ADHD is therefore far from easy, even under the subsequent possible use of medication, and still can not be done through the administration of tests in schools or questionnaires on mental and emotional status of pupils. "
Furthermore, in relation to courses and conferences on these issues, the circular states:" Reports received, including through parliamentary acts relating the organization of courses for parents and teachers designed to propagate the use of psychoactive products in cases of children with learning and behavior disorders (ADHD). ... In light of the opinion expressed above, are requested SSLL want to give instructions to schools the responsibility to ensure that any similar incidents are immediately brought to the attention of USR competence and subsequently reported to the Directorate General of writing. "
The Citizens Commission on Human Rights would like to thank and express its satisfaction at this position that the Ministry has decided to protect our children, aware of the dangers inherent in these tests and, indirectly, the use and abuse of psychotropic drugs.
Well aware of the existence of strong pressures to continue this activity screening in schools, our Committee, along with all those who joined in this battle, will continue to be vigilant and denounce any abnormal situation that contrasts with directives of the Circular.
